Soccer is contested on both the men's and women's side across OCAA member colleges, and unlike most league sport it runs in two separate formats. Outdoor soccer plays in the fall. Indoor soccer is its own competition later in the year, with its own standings and its own provincial championship. Outdoor and indoor are different sports
Outdoor

Indoor
Smaller sided, played in gyms. Faster, tighter, and built on technical control in confined space rather than distance covered.
Because the two are separate competitions with different squad sizes, staffs don't always carry the same core group between them. A wide midfielder in the outdoor game can end up in a completely different role indoors. Some programs treat the indoor season as a second campaign with its own tactical identity. Others run it as an extension of the outdoor squad with a few lineup tweaks.

Programs with deeper athletic department resources have an easier time fielding a full-strength roster across the whole outdoor slate without overlap problems.

Goalkeeping gets treated separately from the rest of the roster, since the position demands a different skill set and there's usually one clear starting spot. A program without a dependable starter struggles no matter how good the outfield players are. Staffs often lock down goalkeeping depth early in a recruiting cycle instead of leaving it behind outfield positions.

As across the rest of the league, colleges are grouped regionally to keep regular-season travel manageable, with division standings feeding into the provincial bracket. Late-season crossover games against other divisions are usually the most closely watched fixtures, because they are often the only direct measuring stick between divisions before the postseason is set.
